ULTRAFAST / USP LASERS

ULTRAFAST / USP (picosecond and femtosecond pulse) lasers are a game changer. Slower
lasers have a heating effect. Molten material tends to splatter and a Heat Affected Zone
may alter the surrounding material in an undesirable way. ULTRAFAST lasers have an
electric instead of thermal effect on materials. Materials can be laser processed cleanly
with minimal HAZ. Expect to see faster, more powerful and less expensive ULTRAFAST
lasers as the technology catches on.
